Greek Port Status
The current situation with Greek ports including Thessaloniki port remains the same which means no drastic changes on the operational side.  Thessaloniki port is "more" operational than the other Greek ports, working in two shifts and handling the containers with slower activity.  Unofficially, the protest will likely continue until the end of this year and so far no changes announced for next year.  It appears that port workers can't establish an agreement with the government so the protest can be terminated.   On top of that, there was a strike of the Greek custom officers which caused a backlog and delays at the borders.  This strike is considered resolved and the business can return to normal.

It is important to point out that detention and demurrage for cargo can occur due to the ongoing protest.  It's very difficult to predict handling and transit time. Our partners are monitoring the situation constantly and are doing their best to move the containers in the timeliest manner possible according to the current situation.  We recommend discussing your upcoming requests in order to find the best possible solutions at the time.
