Connor Participates in The Veteran Institute for Procurement Training Program

In October, John S. Connor Business Development Manager Jim Budd participated in The Veteran Institute for Procurement training program leading a class on importing, exporting, and customs regulations. The class focused on the opportunity to start or grow an international business and avoid common pitfalls and costly mistakes.

The Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCCF) Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) is the first free training program for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB).

The VIP is a 27-hour, 3-day comprehensive certification program instructed by industry experts, government officials, and agency representatives. It is designed for veteran businesses to increase their ability to win government contracts by establishing best business practices. 397 Veteran-owned businesses Nationwide have graduated from the program to-date.

Lee Connor, President of John S. Connor, explained “we are proud that Jim has participated in this important program for the past three years - his expertise in global logistics has provided helpful guidance to accelerate Veteran success in the federal marketplace.”
