Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announce 2022 Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) levels for aluminum articles of EU member countries. The aluminum tariff rate quota program will be divided up into two periods; January 1, 2022 – June 30, 2022 and July 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022. Opening moment for the first period, begins January 3, 2022.
The EU member countries that are included with the tariff rate quota program are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia (Czech Republic), Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
All Imports of aluminum articles from the EU in excess of the TRQ quantities shall remain subject to the 10 percent ad valorem duty rate imposed by HTS 9903.85.01, provided they are not subject to an exclusion.
For all other countries not listed, the increased section 232 tariffs will apply.

Effective January 1, 2022, aluminum derivatives from the EU, referenced in proclamation 9980, will no longer be subject to additional duties under HTS 9903.85.03. (See Annex I for full list)
Please note that Importers may apply for additional exclusions from the Department of Commerce (DOC), the quantitative limits and effective dates will be issued to each successful applicant. Additionally, the General Approved Exclusions (GAE) will also be available to be utilized.
