Mid-Atlantic Winter Storm Wreaking Havoc

2024-03-04T16:33:48-05:00January 3rd, 2022|

The Mid-Atlantic region, especially in the Baltimore-Washington area, is getting hit with a winter storm this morning which is wreaking havoc with road, marine, and air terminal working conditions. Federal government offices are closed in DC. Winter storm warnings have been posted from NY to Alabama forecasting heavy precipitation, high winds, and possible flooding. Tornado watches have been posted in the Carolinas. There are also reports of power outages in certain areas.

This is just to confirm that John S. Connor staff are working from home for the most part, in the field where possible, and managing your shipments as best we can. Please be advised these weather conditions could impact the movement of shipments due to flight cancellations and hazardous working conditions at terminals and on the road.

At this time we expect things to be getting back to normal in the next 24 hours or so except in harder-hit areas with power outages, particularly in the DC/Northern Virginia area and interior points in the South. Please feel free to reach out to your normal contacts with specific questions and we will keep you updated as conditions change.

Thank you for your patience as we start the new year with even more challenges to the supply chain. Please be assured of our continuing efforts to keep your shipments moving as conditions permit.
