On August 15, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provided guidance on the inclusion of additional steel and aluminum derivatives to Annex I of the HTSUS subject to Section 232 duties.

This guidance is provided in regards to the Bureau of Industry and Security announcement that 407 new HTSUS subheadings have been added to the list of articles covered by the Section 232 actions on steel and aluminum and therefore subject to 50% tariffs on the value of the steel and/or aluminum content.

These tariffs are effective for articles that are entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 12:01 a.m. EDT on Aug. 18. The 50% percent tariff is on the value of the steel and/or aluminum content.
