On March 12, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) launched Section 301 investigations into 60 countries. The investigations will evaluate whether these countries’ failure to enforce bans on the importation of goods made with forced labor is unreasonable or discriminatory, and if it restricts or burdens U.S. commerce.

The USTR has requested consultations with the involved governments and will hold public hearings in Washington, D.C., on April 28. For interested parties, the deadline to submit written comments, requests to appear at the hearing, and testimony summaries is April 15.

The USTR notice may be found here.
