Although the ports in Shenzhen and Shanghai remain open and operational, productivity at the ports is being affected by workers having to home quarantine. Also tighter restrictions on truck drivers is causing some major slow downs and delays. There have been some reports of bad weather also playing a role in some vessel delays.

The lockdown curfew was set to end on March 20th. So far the lockdown has ended for most of Shenzhen, however parts of it’s central business district remain closed as the city tries to get back to zero cases.

China is doing it’s best to avoid shutting down terminals and keep operations running smoothly. The COVID testing requirements for truckers and more strict road control between Shenzhen and nearby cities will mean trucking services will be delayed about 40%.
