2024-03-26T14:30:42-04:00March 26th, 2024|

In light of the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, and as a Baltimore-based company, we join with our fellow business, governmental and local community to express our deepest gratitude for the brave responders who are working on search and rescue efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are directed to all those impacted by this devastating incident.

John S. Connor is monitoring the numerous updates with authorities on the status of vessel traffic and when it might resume. We are in communication with vessel owners, shipping lines and U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Port of Baltimore to learn of possible diversion plans. We are confirming that John S. Connor will assist with cargo clearances and work dutifully to keep cargo moving.

The 948-foot Singapore-flagged vessel DALI struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, 2024. Currently, a safety zone has been established for all navigable waters of the Chesapeake Bay within a 2000-yard radius of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The safety zone is intended to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment in these navigable waters.

As this is a fluid situation that could possibly delay deliveries and add cost, we will do whatever is necessary to mitigate these conditions and provide further updates as they become available. John S. Connor is committed to playing an active role in significant efforts to help Baltimore overcome this tragedy.

John S. Connor will contiuue to provide updates as they develop.
